Situational Analysis:

The State Govt. is with success implementing the National Family Welfare Programme as Associate in Nursing integral a part of total health supply system. it's strictly voluntary; people’s participation & is wanted through native Self Govt., Voluntary Organizations and Opinion Leaders at completely different levels. Since April, 1996, Family Welfare Programme is being enforced as Community desires Assessment Approach (C.N.A.A) whereby demand of community and quality of services with suburbanised democratic coming up with is that the drive behind the Programme, so really creating it a peoples’ Programme. Population of State as per 1991 census was 16463648 and as per 2001 the census it had been 21144564. so there was a rise of forty lacs in 10 years. The decennial growth in Haryana as per 2001 census is twenty eight.06% that was even abundant beyond the National increase (21.38 %). Such population explosion has to be controlled effectively. The Birth Rate in Haryana, that was forty two.1 per thousand in one971 & thirty six.5 per thousand in 1981, has been delivered to twenty two.1 per thousand as per NHFS-III (2005-06).

Total Fertility Rate:

Total Fertility Rate (TFR) could be a useful indicator for analyzing the prospects for population stabilization Total fertility (TFR) signifies the full number of kids a median woman will produce in her child bearing years. In Haryana the TFR is 2.5 (SRS-2008).

Current Fertility:

At current fertility levels, a girl in Haryana can have a median of two.5 child during her lifetime which is as per the TFR at the national level Fertility in rural areas is 2.9 kids per girl that is zero.7 child more than the TFR (2.2) in urban areas.
